Team Brave Like Gabe x 2025 TCS NYC Marathon Recap
On November 2nd, 2025 our incredible team of charity runners crossed the finish line at the TCS NYC Marathon. Together, they raised over $105,000 for rare cancer research, turning every mile of training, every early morning, and every step through the five boroughs into real impact for rare cancer patients and families.
From cancer researchers to cancer patients actively receiving chemotherapy, they all had stories of resilience, bravery, grief and hope. Each team member ran with purpose and dedication. This race was about something more than themselves. One team member reflected, “Today wasn’t mine. It was for my dad, for everyone I fundraised for, for Brave Like Gabe.” Another commented, “This has been the greatest experience of my life and I am so grateful to be a part of this team.”
To our runners, donors, and cheerleaders, thank you for supporting the mission of the Brave Like Gabe Foundation. Please read more about this team below!
Special thanks to Brooks Running for partnering with our charity bib program.

“On Sunday, I carried Gabe with me in my heart for 26.2 miles from Staten Island to Central Park. I was given the incredible opportunity to use something I am passionate about for the greater good, and for that, I am beyond thankful. The energy on the streets of New York City was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced and is something I will never forget. Even when my legs felt like they were going to give out during the last few miles, I couldn’t stop smiling.”
“I still can’t quite put into words how special this day was. It truly was one of the best days of my life.”
“Thank you, THANK YOU for this opportunity. I was so grateful to run with BLG, and I feel so lucky to be part of this community.”
“Being part of this team made me run with a real purpose and felt I was part of something bigger than me!”
“As I reflect on last Sunday, I have such gratitude for Brave Like Gabe and this incredible opportunity. It was such a gift to be on this wonderful team and to help my ACC family. The experience also helped me personally in so many ways. There are many lessons this experience taught me, including to speak life to yourself.”
“Meeting my teammates in person was an honor and hearing their stories and struggles firsthand is something I will never forget. 💙”
